Autograph letter signed, dated : Kline, near Moscow, 4/16 March 1893, to [Alfred Hipkins], 1893 Mar. 4.

Saying that the rights to nearly all his compositions, including those in question, belong to his original publisher, P.I. Jurgenson, and that therefore Jurgenson, not Tchaikovsky, should be approached for the requested authorization, adding that a literary-musical agreement does not exist between England and Russia, and that morally he is in no way averse to the plan to help a family that has met with misfortune.
